Description
This is raw fleece from a manx loaghtan which is an ancient primitive island breed in Britain. This comes from a small flock which are well looked after and kept on pasture in England. This is soft and gorgeous with a lovely naturally oily texture similar to soay. I only have a very limited amount until next year.
The fleece is soft and open with little vegetable matter and is quite clean and carefully skirted. It will spin or felt beautifully and is often traditionally spun into lace weight yarn.
The colour is a lustrous dark and mid brown to chocolate with caramel paler tips the average length shown in the photos with the tape measure.
As this ancient sheep breed shed their fleece naturally there are extremely limited quantities available each year and there is high demand.
This is gorgeous for spinning, felting or many other crafts.
There is very little vm as these sheep have been at pasture in luscious green grass so this is not full of straw or daggings.
This is unwashed and just as it was shorn and the listing is for 100g.
I welcome customers from anywhere in the world. All my orders come beautifully wrapped and with a free treat.
