Description
This is raw fleece from a Boreray sheep which is a critically endangered British breed. This fleece is extremely difficult to source and as such I only have limited quantities available until next year.
This fleece is a double coated fleece with a long overcoat and a soft, fluffy, cloudlike buttery undercoat which is very fine. It is a simple matter to separate the two coats by gently gripping a lock at each end and pulling the two coats apart. The whole fleece is often spun or woven to give an amazing tweed like fleck and texture. Or they can be used separately.
The colours very from a creamy pale honey to dark treacley gold.
Purchasing this fleece you also help to support the survival of this endangered breed.
This is gorgeous for spinning, weaving, felting or many other crafts.
There is very little vm (although there is a small amount as would be expected – they are sheep after all!) this is not full of straw or daggings. There are very few second cuts and it’s lovely quality.
This is unwashed and just as it was shorn and the listing is for 100g.
I welcome customers from anywhere in the world. All my orders come beautifully wrapped and with a free treat.
